We presented the family farming packages to the MAG

Technical talk by the team to growers in a meeting room

Twelve packages, demonstration plots and training of extension officers as a model of coordination.

What we presented

To the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock we presented a proposal of packages for family farming: twelve closed packages by sector and by stage, demonstration plots and training of extension officers as a model of coordination between a national industry and public extension.

Why horticulture comes first

Horticulture is the sector where our proposal shows fastest and where the chemical residue argument weighs most, because the consumer eats the product fresh. It is also the best sector for demonstration plots and for family farming: biological control with no chemical withholding period, and more colour, firmness, flavour and post-harvest life. Higher Brix degrees are at once plant immunity and market value on the shelf.

How a package is put together

A package is a closed sales unit: it defines which product goes in, at which stage, at what dose and with what technical objective. There are no generic recipes; it is adjusted to the diagnosis of each plot.

  • Horticulture: VitaCrop and VitaTricol as the base in all applications, VitaAlicap when there is pressure from sucking and chewing pests, and the chelated foliar line by stage. CARBOterra in the substrate.
  • Farm compost: FILABIOSA at 0.1% plus functional carbon at 1%, with the farm's own manure, when building the pile and at every turning.
  • Gardens and vegetable plots: CARBOterra in the soil and watering with FILABIOSA in chlorine-free water.

For those just starting out, the recommended entry point is application booster plus seed treatment: little investment and a quick response. The foliars and the reduction of applications against fungi come in the following season.

The coordination model

Demonstration plots in each extension officer's area, with a control next to them, so the difference shows in the same photo on the same day. Technical talks and field days for the extension officers and their growers, because they sell better, and recommend better, what they understand. And follow-up with soil chromatography, which shows at a glance what a chemical analysis cannot.

An honest note

What exists today is a proposal presented and an open conversation. When there is a signed agreement or plots under way, we will tell it here, with its numbers.
